I got this recipe from a church cookbook many years back..It is such a good pot luck recipe and lasts a long time

Ingredients

  • 6 large ripe tomatoes
  • 1 large english cucumber
  • 1 medium sweet onion
  • 1 medium bell pepper
  • 3/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons celery salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons mustard seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup water

How To Make spicy tomatoes

  • Step 1
    Skin and quarter the tomatoes ( quick dip them in boiling water the skin will slip right off) Slice the green pepper into strips and slice the onion into rings..save the cucumber for a hour before serving to keep it from softening..Place veggies minus the cuke into a large bowl..,mix liquids and spices in a small sauce pan and bring to boil for 1 minute..while hot pour over the veggies..chill over night..serve as a relish or side dish.can bemade days ahead without the cuke
