We love these little treasures and when it's time for these beauties this recipe becomes our lunch and dinner for at least a couple weeks until we've had our fill for the following season. Our youngest son enjoys these right along with us. These are with a little southern twist on them.

Ingredients
- 4-6 - green tomatoes, sliced 1/4 - 1/2 " slices
- 1/2 cup flour for dusting
- - salt and pepper to taste
- 2 - eggs
- 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
- - bacon grease
How To Make southern style fried green tomatoes

Step 1Salt and pepper the tomato slices, dust lightly with flour.

Step 2Dip slices in beaten egg, letting excess drip off, then coat well with cornmeal or crumbs.

Step 3Fry in hot grease or oil until browned, preferably in cast iron pan, turning gently (about 3 minutes each side). Keep warm in a low 200 degree oven if frying in batches.
