southern fried cabbage
This was my favorite growing up. It was a New Year's Eve tradition (and still is) but mom cooked it a few times during the year as well.
Blue Ribbon Recipe
Think you don't like cabbage? We bet this Southern fried cabbage will change your mind. It's tender and cooks to golden perfection. Frying it in bacon grease adds tons of flavor, while the white vinegar creates the perfect contrast with a sharp tang. A delicious side dish year-round, but especially good for New Year's Day.
