How To Make side dish essentials: to die for honey/cheesy corn
-
Step 1PREP/PREPARE
-
Step 2You will need a medium sized skillet to make this recipe.
-
Step 3Any leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 3 – 4 days; however, since this recipe contains cheese, I would not recommend freezing it.
-
Step 4I love the subtle heat that white pepper delivers; especially, when contrasting that heat with sweet items, like fresh clover honey. If you do not have white pepper, you can always substitute black pepper.
-
Step 5Gather your ingredients (mise en place).
-
Step 6Add the butter to a skillet over medium heat, and heat until it stops foaming.
-
Step 7Add the corn and cook, while stirring for about 2 – 3 minutes.
-
Step 8If you are using fresh-off-the-cob corn, then add an additional 5 minutes to the cooking time.
-
Step 9Drizzle in the honey and cook for an additional 1 – 2 minutes.
-
Step 10Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the softened cream cheese.
-
Step 11Cook for an addition 2 – 3 minutes, and then add some salt and white pepper, to taste.
-
Step 12PLATE/PRESENT
-
Step 13Eat by itself, or serve as a side with your favorite meat, fish, or poultry. Enjoy.
-
Step 14Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
