Sicilian green Beans

I really don't know how to describe this recipe. It's just a really tasty way to get my children to eat green beans. It was never my favorite vegetable, but this recipe brought it up to Mmmmmmmm level.

1/2 lb
green beans, fresh, frenched
1 Tbsp
minced garlic
1/2 medium
yellow onion, diced
1 Tbsp
olive oil
1 Tbsp
salt and ground pepper to taste
lemon wedges optional


1Trim ends off the beans, French them with the top of a potato peeler ( special gadget )
Or use French Style frozen green beans.
2In skillet, heat butter and olive oil, add onion and garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add string beans and sauté stirring until JUST cooked but not soft. Season with salt and pepper
3Transfer to serving bowl and serve with lemon wedges. So easy, so good.
