Two great cooks from our church back in NY would bring this vegetable dish to family dinners on Wednesday nights. I don't think the dishes ever went home with anything in them. What a great way to eat spinach when fresh wasn't in season, and we didn't have many fresh vegetables that were not in season in those days.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds cottage cheese, large curd
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon oregano, dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 stick butter, sliced
  • 2 boxes frozen, chopped spinach, thawed and well drained
  • 1 package old english cheese slices, cut into small pieces

How To Make serbian spinach

  • Step 1
    Mix all ingredients together. Place in a greased casserole dish. bake at 350-degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
