savory limas
I found this recipe in the November, 1963 issue of Family Circle magazine. It is an easy, little-bit-different and very tasty way to dress up plain ol' lima beans.

Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter (1/2 stick)
- 2 packages frozen lima beans (10 oz. each)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
How To Make savory limas

Step 1Melt butter in a medium-size heavy saucepan; add frozen lima beans, sugar, salt and pepper; add water and stir, cover.

Step 2Cook slowly for 5 minutes; stir with a fork to mix with seasonings; cover again. Cook 15 minutes longer, or until tender. Add a little more water, if necessary.

Step 3Sprinkle parsley and lemon juice over; toss lightly to mix.
