This was my mama's favorite coleslaw! It is very delicious with pinto beans.

Ingredients

  • 1 large cabbage head, shredded
  • 1 large bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup vinegar--i prefer white
  • 1/2 cup crisco oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon mustardseed (or mustard)
  • 1 teaspoon celery seeds

How To Make refrigerator coleslaw

  • Step 1
    Mix cabbage, pepper, and onions
  • Step 2
    Bring to boil: sugar, vinegar,oil, salt, mustard, and celery seeds.
  • Step 3
    Pour over cabbage mixture and mix well. Cover. Will keep in the refrigerator for several days.
