Mama called these "bread & butter pickles". I call em Quick Pickles cuz they never last long & are quick to make.

Depends how many you eat at one sittin'
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 pounds cucumbers,peeled(or not) & cut into 1/4in. slices
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup each cider & white vinegar
- 1 cup brown sugar, light
- 1 1/2 cups slivered onions
- 2 - garlic cloves,slivered
- 1 teaspoon dill seed
- 1 teaspoon mustard seed
How To Make quick pickles

Step 1Place cucumber slices in a colander set in the sink.Sprinkle with salt and stir to make sure all slices are covered.Let stand 20 min.

Step 2Meanwhile,combine the rest of ingredients in a saucepan.Bring to a boil,reduce heat and simmer for 10 min.

Step 3Rinse,drain and transfer cucumbers to a heatproof bowl.Pour hot liquid over the cucumbers;stir to combine.Put in fridge at least 10 min. to bring to room temp. before trying to eat.

Step 4May be covered and refrigerated for up to 10 days.If they last that long.
