Ingredients
- WHAT YOU NEED
- - 1 lb banana peppers
- - 3 cups white vinegar
- - 2 cups water
- - 3 garlic cloves mashed
- - 3 teaspoons pickling salt
How To Make pickled hot peppers
-
Step 1Sterilize jars, I always run mine through the dishwasher, then i fill the sink with boiling hot water and place them in there to stay hot.
-
Step 2Use gloves (YES make sure you use them, the first year I made these I didn't and holy crap my hand were on fire lol) Trim off stems and ends shake out most seeds and slice banana peppers into 1/4 and 1/2 " rings. You can also use an assortment of hot peppers for this recipe as well, I only use banana peppers.
-
Step 3In a large pot add water, vinegar, garlic and salt and bring to a boil. Pack hot jars with peppers leaving 1/4" of head space, add 1 tsp of pickling salt to each jar. pour hot brine over peppers leaving 1/4" of space near top, tap out bubble, give the jar rims a quick wipe and add seals and rings.
-
Step 4Add jars to a boiling bath for 10 minutes. Be careful they will be VERY hot, Lift jar out and place upside down until cool. Enjoy
