Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (or use a couple spitzes of olive oil spray)
- 1 medium onion, large dice
- 8 ounces portabella mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (dried Italian herbs)
- 2 cups frozen peas, thawed
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt, or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 lemon, zest and juice
- grated Parmesan, to serve (optional)
How To Make peas italiano - piselli con funghi e cipolle

Step 1Heat oil in a skillet. Add onions, saute until slightly translucent. Add mushrooms. Cook until they release moisture. Add garlic, cook briefly.

Step 2Stir Italian seasoning and peas into the onion mixture, and heat until warmed.

Step 3Sprinkle with lemon zest and a couple of squeezes of lemon juice. Add a bit of grated cheese, if desired. Serve.
