I always wanted to try asparagus, I had never had it as a child, so didn't know what it was like. I tried green giants canned, I liked the flavor, but not the sliminess. I came up with making it this way and simply love it. My family eats it like fries. I serve it with hamburgers and sandwiches as a side in place of potatoes.

after washing and drying vegetable, if you bend each stem. it will break where it needs to be broken, discard bottom portions
In a large bowl toss oil and spices with asparagus
Line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper. Lay out prepared asparagus in a single layer
bake in a hot 425 degree oven for at least 40 minutes. ( if asparagus is skinny may not take as long) or bake until crispy.
