marie's (my mom) green salad

Sometimes in the summer on the weekends my Mother would make a green salad to go with dinner. Her's was a special salad. My dad whould roll his eyes at her but she made them anyway. "He would usually say something like "If I knew what you were going to do with those roses I well......." Picture taken in Panama City Beach,Florida where they would spend the winters after they retired.

Ingredients

  • 1 - head lettuce chopped into bite sized pieces
  • 1-2 - cucumber pealed and diced
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 4 - green onions sliced on a slant about 1/2 inch long
  • 1-2 - tomatoes chopped
  • 6-8 - radishes diced
  • 5 - stalks celery diced
  • 5-8 - roses in full bloom (pedals only)

How To Make marie's (my mom) green salad

  • Step 1
    fix the lettuce and put all the rest on top. Toss at the table
  • Step 2
    add dressings after it is on your plate. Mom used thousand Island, My dad used Blue cheese, I used spicy french and Diana used Ranch
