This is a slaw that has no mayo in it.
The recipe came from Lill Bower, a sweet Canadian lady that wintered over in our snowbird park.

Ingredients

3 lb
cabbage, shredded
4 small
onions, thinly sliced
3/4 c
sugar
1 c
white vinegar
1/2 tsp
garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp
salt
1 tsp
celery seed
1 tsp
dry mustard
1 c
vegetable oil

How to Make Lill's Canadian style slaw

Step-by-Step

  • 1Alternate layers of cabbage and onions.
  • 2Heat remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
  • 3Pour over cabbage, cover set 1 hour.
  • 4Stir and refrigerate.
