My wife Nancy and I found the basis of this soup on another site, now I can't find the other site. We adapted this soup to our no salt soup. Try it. Think you will like it. This version of the recipe is presented by Ben/Mojo's Diner.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried lentil

How To Make slow cooker lentil and ham soup

  • Step 1
In a 3 1/2 quart or larger slow cooker combine the lentil, celery, carrots, onion, garlic and ham.

Seson with basil, thyme, oregano, pepper and the bay leaf.
  • Step 3
Stir in the chicken broth, water and tomato sauce.

  • Step 5
Remove the bay leaf before serving. We started on high for an hour at first then turned it down to slow. This way you can cook the soup in about 6 hours. For those of you working or will not be home turn the soup down, go ahead slow cook for 11 hrs.
