Creamed Peas Deluxe
great over toast-
mixed with pasta
over salmon or tuna casserole
mixed with potatoes
2 can(s)14 oz. each peas(4 c.) drained-1/4 c. juice reserved
1/4 creserved liquid from peas
1/4 clemon juice
1 tspground mustard
1/2 cevaporated milk
1 tspthick worcestershire sauce
1/2 cshredded cheddar cheese
1 tspeach salt and pepper and garlic powder
2 largehard boiled eggs, grated for garnish
1 Tbspchopped green onion, for garnish
How to Make Creamed Peas Deluxe
- Drain peas reserving 1/4 cup of liquid. Set peas aside.
Combine the liquid from peas and the milk in a small saucepan and add the cornstarch and stir to dissolve.
Add the Worcestershire sauce, s&p, mustard and garlic powder, stir to blend. Stir in lemon juice; mix well.Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until mixture thicken and does not stick in bottom of pan.
- Add cheese to sauce mixture and stir until partially melted; gently stir in peas.
Cook until heated through.
Pour into serving bowl and garnish top with grated eggs and chopped green onion.
