herbed green beans

There is nothing better that fresh veggies cooked in a way that does not remove their nutritional elements. Green beans are one of my favorite summer vegetables and they are a wonderful side dish for any type of beef, pork, poultry or fish entree.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound green beans, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1/2 teaspoon rosemary leaves, finely crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme, leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, ground

How To Make herbed green beans

  • Step 1
    Over medium high heat,in a medium saucepan, add beans and enough water to cover; cover with a lid and bring beans and water to boil.
  • Step 2
    Reduce heat to low; simmer 4 to 6 minutes or until tender-crisp.
  • Step 3
    Drain. Return beans to saucepan.
  • Step 4
    Toss with vinegar, oil, rosemary, thyme, kosher salt and pepper.
  • Step 5
    Cook and stir over medium heat 1 to 2 minutes or until heated through.
