I was up North...Oscoda, Michigan this past week with my family and ran to the grocery store there in town for some groceries. As I walked to the carts I saw a rack full of postcard size recipes for you to take one if you wanted to..this one caught my eye and said PLEASE TRY ME...so I did! This is one of those summer yummy salads with tomato's from the garden...summer food at its best!

  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 1/4 cup atheno's crumbled feta cheese with basil and tomato
  • 1/4 cup kraft....tuscan house italian dressing
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil...chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley...chopped
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make heirloom tomato salad

  • Step 1
    Combine all ingredients....serve immediately.
  • Step 2
Note: Use a variety of different colored and shaped tomatoes when making this seasonal salad. Just cut into bite size wedges.
  • Step 3
Salad can be made ahead of time. Prepare as directed, but do not add cheese. Refrigerate up to 8 hours. Toss with crumbled cheese just before serving.
  • Step 4
Note from Lynn...I used more dressing than the recipe called for as well as the feta cheese. This is a recipe that you can add too if desired. I made it a second time and added red bell peppers to it as well...if you don't like feta cheese, add any cheese to your liking. Using the feta with the basil and tomato really makes the salad though. Please enjoy...it is light and refreshing. Could also add cucumbers....if desired. Anything goes to your liking in this particular salad..the Tuscan dressing is so yummy...it truly makes this salad unique.
