This bean and veggie combination is even more delicious cooked outside on the grill. Leave the bacon out for a healthier/vegetarian dish.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Why have we never tried grilling fresh green beans sooner? We fell in love at first bite. The green beans stay crunchy. Smoky bacon, mushrooms, and onions add tons of flavor to the green beans. We used Morton's seasoning blend on ours and it added just the right amount of seasoning. These would be delicious alongside grilled steak this summer.

How To Make grilled fresh green beans

Test Kitchen Tips
We didn't have a grill wok so we used a regular wok to saute the bacon and onions. We did have a grill tray. So when the bacon and onions were done, we added the onions, beans, and mushrooms to that and cooked over indirect heat until cooked. Worked perfectly!
  • Ingredients prepped.
    Step 1
Slice onions and mushrooms and cut bacon slices into quarters. Prep the green beans.
  • Bacon and onions in the wok.
    Step 2
Place wok over the heated side of the grill. Add bacon and optional onions. Sear for a couple of minutes.
  • Green beans added to the wok.
    Step 3
Move basket to unheated side of grill, add beans and mushrooms to wok. Season and stir.
  • Grilling the green beans until cooked.
    Step 4
Cook over indirect heat (with lid shut), approx. 325°-350° for 30-45 min. stirring often. Cooking time will depend on heat of grill and how al dente you like your beans.
