Hummus is a great appetizer dish with healthy benefits, both to diet and budget.

Ingredients

  • 1 package frozen green peas (14-16 ounces)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 ounces feta cheese
  • 1/3 bunch fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 tablespoon sea salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon fresh ground black pepper

How To Make green pea hummus (sallye)

  • Step 1
    Thaw peas before using Peel garlic clove Reserve 1/4 cup feta cheese for garnish Remove stems from cilantro
  • Step 2
    Place all ingredients in food processor except reserved feta Process until mixture is smooth textured.
  • Step 3
    Turn out into serving dish Crumble reserved feta cheese over top for garnish A sprig of cilantro can also be used as garnish
  • Step 4
    Serve with homemade pita chips (recipe link below) Any leftover can be stored in fridge for several days.
