gramp's coleslaw

This is one of those recipes that each family seems to have a version of its own, yet this version is very easy and simple to make and holds a robust of flavor. I (when I was much younger...) used to help my Dad make this and now have "little helpers" doing the same. Hope you give it a try! Excellent side to any dish.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup finely shredded carrots
- 6 cups finely shredded green cabbage
How To Make gramp's coleslaw

Step 1Whisk, in a large bowl vinegar, oil, water, salt, sugar, and pepper until blended. Add carrots and cabbage and thoroughly toss until well-blended.

Step 2Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to allow cabbage to slightly wilt and flavors to mingle. Mix prior to serving.
