  • 1 pkg
    (10 oz) frozen italian-style green beans
  • 2 tsp
    olive oil
  • 2 clove
    garlic (crushed)
  • 2 Tbsp
    grated parmesan cheese

How to Make Garlic Green Beans


  1. In a nonstick skillet over medium heat, combine beans, olive oil and garlic. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
  2. Remove cover, stir and cook 3 minutes longer or until liquid evaporates. Season to taste and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  3. Per 1/2-cup serving:
    calories - 55
    total fat - 3g; sat fat - 1g
    cholesterol - 2mg
    sodium - 68 mg
    protein - 2g
    carbohydrate - 5g; fiber - 2g
  4. Diabetic exchanges:
    1 vegetable, 1/2 fat (mono unsaturated)
