Fresh French Style Green Beans was once one of the most anticipated signs of spring, but these days it is available in most markets year-round. When green beans are steamed lightly in vegetable broth then remove from the steamer, season with just a little salt and pepper. Then sprinkle with colorful slices of mini bell peppers, you’ll enjoy this wonderful side dish often.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    fresh french style green beans
  • 6
    mini bell pepperw (sliced - red, yellow, & orange
  • 1 1/2 c
    vegetable broth, low sodium
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make

    In medium to large sauce pan, over medium heat add vegetable broth and bring to a boil. Then add green beans and let steam for about 5 – 8 minutes or until tender, but do not overcook. Remove pan from heat, season with salt and pepper, then add slice peppers cover and let stand for about 2 minutes.

    Place green beans and peppers in serving dish.
