Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 large onions, cut into thin slices
- 1 - loaf french bread
- 3 - ribs celery, sliced thin
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 - quart beef broth
- 1/4 cup strong brwed coffee
- 3 cups shredded swiss cheese
- 1/4 cup french's fried onions
How To Make french onion casserole

Step 1In lg pot, melt butter. Add onions to pot. Reduce heat to medium-low and stirring constantly, cook about 30 mins, or until caramelized.

Step 2Break bread into 1" cubes, set aside. Add celery to onions. Cook until celery is soft. Add flour, cook 5 mins. Heat oven to 350.Stir the broth and coffee into pot.

Step 3Cook 10 mins. Pour mix into a 9" x 13" casserole dish. Top w/ bread cubes. Press the bread into the soup. Cover w/ cheese. Sprinkle w/ french's fried onions. Bake 15 mins. Ladle into bowls.
