Ingredients

garbanzo beans, rinsed & drained
3
garlic cloves
1 tsp
cumin
1 tsp
oregano, dried
1/4 c
cilantro, fresh
1/4 c
parsley, fresh
1 tsp
olive oil
1/2
lemon squeezed
salt/pepper
1 Tbsp
flour
2 c
vegetable or canola oil for frying

How to Make Falafel

Step-by-Step

  • 1Put the garbanzo beans in a food processor, pulse a few times...just to the consistency of loose bread crumbs...NOT mushy.
  • 2take out and place in a bowl.
  • 3add the rest of the ingredients( except the 2 cups of oil) and also pulse till well combined..
  • 4mix together with the garbanzo beans and refrigerate at least an hour.
  • 5form into small balls and gently press, fry on med-high for about 2 mins per side...until golden brown.
  • 6serve warm in pita bread with tomatoes, lettuce and Tzatziki sauce ( look for recipe here).
