down south essentials: tangy coleslaw dressing
This is a simple recipe to assemble and tastes awesome. It is basically cabbage, carrots, and a yummy dressing. To me, this is not about the veggies, this is about the dressing. So, you can cut up your own cabbage and carrots, or you can use a premix bag… up to you. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

How To Make down south essentials: tangy coleslaw dressing
-
Step 1PREP/PREPARE
-
Step 2Once made, let the slaw sit, covered, in the fridge for about an hour. This will give the ingredients a chance to know each other.
-
Step 3If you want a coleslaw with more dressing, you might want to start by mixing in half the cabbage and carrots, and then adding a bit more at a time until you like the ratio of dressing-to-cabbage.
-
Step 4Gather your ingredients (mise en place).
-
Step 5Add all the ingredients to a non-reactive mixing bowl.
-
Step 6Whisk until combined, and smooth.
-
Step 7Add the coleslaw.
-
Step 8Toss, until the dressing coats the cabbage.
-
Step 9PLATE/PRESENT
-
Step 10I like serving this particular coleslaw with beef dishes; however, serve it with whatever suits your fancy. Enjoy.
-
Step 11Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
