crunchy broccoli bacon salad

My sis in law, Lee would always bring this dish for our family buffet on Christmas. I almost didn't submit, because I though everyone probably makes this, but maybe not.

Ingredients

  • 2 large heads broccoli cut into florets
  • 1 small red onion cut into thin rings
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 6 slices bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
  • - dressing:
  • 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar

How To Make crunchy broccoli bacon salad

  • Step 1
    put raisins in a small bowl, boil water, and pour over raisins to hydrate while you fix the rest of the dish.
  • Step 2
    Fry bacon, drain on paper towels and crumble,
  • Step 3
    Wash and dry broccoil, cut into small florets, put in a large bowl.
  • Step 4
    Peel and thinly slice a small red onion.
  • Step 5
    Add the bacon, onion, and well drained raisins to the broccoli.
  • Step 6
    Mix all dressing ingredients together, pour over broccoli mixture, and mix well.
  • Step 7
    Cover and refridgerate until ready to serve.
