My husband's grandmother made these delicious onions as a side dish for all the family gatherings. Every time I make these I think of her and the wonderful holiday meals she made for the family.

Ingredients
- 2 - 14 ounce packages frozen pearl onions
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 2 1/2 cups whole milk (or half and half)
- 4 ounces shredded muenster cheese
How To Make creamed onions

Step 1Cook onions according to directions on package. Drain well.

Step 2Meanwhile, in a medium size saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Mix well and cook over medium high heat for 2 minutes.

Step 3Add the milk, stirring constantly, and cook until thick and bubbly.

Step 4Add the cheese and stir to melt. Add the onions, mix well and cook an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
