Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon mrs. dashes
  • 1 tablespoon celery salt
  • 1 tablespoon louisiana cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon dry onions soup mix
  • t tablespoon onion power
  • 2 tablespoons diced garlic
  • 2 slices thick bacon diced
  • 2 tablespoons bacon fat rendered
  • 2 tablespoons apple vinegar
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion diced
  • 1/2 - jalapeno pepper seeded and diced
  • 1 bag "cut 'n clean country green mix"(collards, turnip, mustard)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make country greens

  • Step 1
    Boil 4 cups water, add seasonings, vinegar, bacon, and honey. Boil gently 15 minutes
  • Step 2
    in a skillet melt bacon fat, saute onions, garlic, and jalapeno for 3-4 minutes
  • Step 3
    Add to broth along with greens; boil gently until greens are tender to suit.
