~ comforting fried cabbage & bacon ~
Just a simple comfort recipe, that I don't ever remember not having at least once a month since a kid. I just love the sweetness of caramelized cabbage! Yum!

Ingredients
- 1 medium head of cabbage - chopped
- 1 medium sweet onion
- 1 pound bacon - chopped
- Salt - and pepper to taste
- Drizzle - of balsamic vinegar - optional
How To Make ~ comforting fried cabbage & bacon ~

Step 1In my iron skillet over medium heat, I cook the bacon crispy, then drain on paper towel. Set aside. In the same skillet cook the onion in the bacon fat until clear, then add cabbage - stir to combine...add salt and pepper...I also add some red pepper flakes. Cover with lid and cook until the cabbage is tender and beginning to caramelize. Once tender, stir in the crispy bacon and serve immediately. I drizzle with balsamic vinegar as serving, optional!
