Cauli being the main vege, but many others can be used. Leeks n brocoli go great with it. Have used cabbage, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes ( raw), bok / pak choy, beans in past. Celery ruins the flavour tho. Great the next day reheated as lunch or in container for work / school lunch.

Ingredients

  • Half - cauliflower
  • - salt n pepper
  • - water
  • 1 - batch white sauce
  • 50 grams golden breadcrumbs
  • 100 grams grated cheese
  • 1 - tomato optional
  • pinch cracked pepper

How To Make cauliflower cheese

  • Step 1
    Cut cauli into floweretes, thicker part of stalk may also be diced up. Par bowl covered in shallow water. Drain well!
  • Step 2
    For white sauce refer to my other listed recipe. Stir in half the cheese until melts.
  • Step 3
    Into glass casserole dish or similar place cauli, ideally top sides up for appearance, pour over cheese sauce, season, top with grated cheese, slices of tomato ( optional) then bread crumbs, sprinkle cracked peeper over. Bake 180c until cheese goes golden.
