This is a recipe I have been making for a long time. It was in our local paper.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • 2 -15 oz. can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 32 oz. cans vegetable juice cocktail (v 8 juice)
  • - 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 pounds of cabbage, sliced

How To Make cabbage soup

  • Step 1
    Brown ground beef, onion & garlic in skillet, until crumbly; drain.
  • Step 2
    In large dutch oven place the ground beef mixture; add the remaining ingredients & simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Add more seasoning if desired.
