Easter coming up soon and something to do different with Asparagus than standing them up in a pot of steaming water. Plus this gives us that extra green veggie we need on our weight watch : )

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 3/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 pound large asparagus,woody ends trimmed
  • - vegetable oil for the grill
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

How To Make burning spears

  • Step 1
    Prepare a medium fire in a charcoal grill,or preheat a gas or electric grill to medium.
  • Step 2
    In shallow baking dish,combine the oil,garlic,pepper flakes,and salt. Toss the asparagus in the seasoned oil to coat evenly.
  • Step 3
    Brush the grill with vegetable oil. Place the asparagus on the grate single layer. Grill,turning every 2 to 3 minutes,until grill-marked and tender,10 to 15 minutes. Transfer to a plate,sprinkle with the lemon juice,and serve.
