broccoli slaw

We just had a member ask for a salad recipe that uses ramen noodles and broccoli, this is pretty much what I was thinking when she said that. This is a Paula Deen recipe from one of her shows. This does not keep well, so eat it up right after you make it.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces two 3 oz packages ramen noodles
  • 3/4 stick butter
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 24 ounces two 12 oz packages broccoli slaw
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • - chopped scallions for garnish
  • - dressing:
  • 3/4 cup canola oil
  • 1/4 cup brown or white sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 package ramen noodle seasoning packet

How To Make broccoli slaw

  • Step 1
    Put noodles in a bag and crush.
  • Step 2
    melt butter and add noodles and almonds and saute ,tirring occasionally over med heat, until not and toasty.
  • Step 3
    Wisk dressing ingredients together in a small bowl.
  • Step 4
    In a large bowl, empty broccoli slaw, toss with almond mixture, and sunflower seeds.
  • Step 5
    Add dressing, toss to combine and chill before serving.
  • Step 6
    Don't make this too early in the day because sitting for this salad does not inprove on it.
