Ingredients For braised red cabbage and apple

  • 1 md
    red cabbage, finely shred
  • 1 lg
    sweet apple, cut in small pieces
  • 1 lg
    red onion, halved and thinly sliced
  • 4 clove
    cloves garlic, crushed
  • 4 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 1 Tbsp
    light brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp
    balsamic vinegar
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make braised red cabbage and apple

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • 2
    Mix well all ingredients in a large ovenproof dish with lid.

    Bake 1 – 1 ½ hour, stir every 30 minutes. When done, the cabbage is soft and not slushy.

    Serve hot or store in the fridge and serve cold or reheated.
