I love fried green tomatoes, so this is my try at lightening it up a bit (although just a bit... there's still a stick of butter in it. haha)

How to Make Baked Green Tomatoes

Step-by-Step

  1. Slice tomatoes in 1/2" slices and layer in casserole dish. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and sugar. Then add the cracker crumbs and dot with butter.
  2. Bake at 350 until tender but still firm - the time will depend on the thickness and greenness of the tomatoes - but will probably range from 30 to 45 minutes.
