My husband loves asparagus and this is his favorite way to enjoy it. I like to make this dish when we have company. Everyone loves it!

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds fresh asparagus spears
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh grated orange rind
- 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
How To Make asparagus/orange spears

Step 1Clean and prep asparagus spears; Cook asparagus, uncovered, in enough boiling water to cover them, 5-6 minutes depending on the thickness of the spears. You want them crisp tender.

Step 2Drain and set aside.

Step 3In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat; Add the garlic and saute' 1 minute. Remove garlic and set aside.

Step 4Add orange juice and the rind to the butter in the skillet. Stir.

Step 5Add the asparagus spears to heat them thoroughly, about a couple of minutes.

Step 6Remove asparagus to a serving dish. Spoon the heated orange juice mixture over the spears. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Serve immediately.
