Argentine Sauteed Swiss Chard (Acelgas Saltada) is a simple and delicious treatment for an easy sauteed Swiss chard.

  • 10 oz
    bunch swiss chard
  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 small
    onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp
    garlic paste
  • ·
    salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch
    freshly grated nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp
    golden raisins, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    balsamic vinegar

How to Make Argentine Sauteed Swiss Chard


  1. Remove stems from chard and chop leaves coarsely.
  2. Heat oil in a large pan and saute onion and garlic until soft.
  3. Add chopped chard leaves, salt, pepper, and a generous splash of balsamic vinegar.
  4. Cover an with a lid until leaves wilt, about one minute.
  5. Add raisins and continue to cook, stir-frying, until chard is as tender as you like,
  6. Season with a pinch or two if nutmeg, to taste.
