these are a great for family get togethers and parties and for dipping.I found this recipe in a cook book from my church and been using it ever since..

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooking oil
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg,
  • 2 cups panko bread crumbs
  • 1 large onion , cut into 1/2 in. slices separted in rings

How To Make yummy crispy onion rings

  • Step 1
    In a soup pot over medium heat,heat oil until hot but not smoking.About 350* or you can use a fry daddy
  • Step 2
    meanwhile in a med.bowl combine flour,baking powder,salt,and cayene pepper.Whisk in buttermilk and egg.Place breadcrumbs in a shallow dish.
  • Step 3
    Dip onion rings into batter then into bread crumbs, until evenly coated on all sides.Place rings in hot oil and cook 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown,turning once. Remove to a paper towel lined platter.Repeat with remaining onion slices.Serve immediately.
  • Step 4
    If desired ,sprinkle with salt before serving.Serve with your favorite dipping sauce..
