Ingredients

  • 3 c
    cooking oil
  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 1 c
    buttermilk
  • 1 large
    egg,
  • 2 c
    panko bread crumbs
  • 1 large
    onion , cut into 1/2 in. slices separted in rings

How to Make Yummy Crispy Onion Rings

Step-by-Step

  1. In a soup pot over medium heat,heat oil until hot but not smoking.About 350* or you can use a fry daddy
  2. meanwhile in a med.bowl combine flour,baking powder,salt,and cayene pepper.Whisk in buttermilk and egg.Place breadcrumbs in a shallow dish.
  3. Dip onion rings into batter then into bread crumbs, until evenly coated on all sides.Place rings in hot oil and cook 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown,turning once.
    Remove to a paper towel lined platter.Repeat with remaining onion slices.Serve immediately.
  4. If desired ,sprinkle with salt before serving.Serve with your favorite dipping sauce..
