These green beans are so tasty! I like them so much better than green bean casserole that I serve them at holiday dinners. They are really different!

Ingredients

  • 2 can(s)
    french-style green beans
  • 4 Tbsp
    butter
  • 4 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 tsp
    grated onion
  • 2 tsp
    sugar
  • 2 c
    sour cream
  • 8 oz
    grated swiss cheese

How to Make Swiss Green Beans

Step-by-Step

  1. Heat the beans in a pan; set aside. In another pan, melt the butter and stir in flour, salt, pepper, onion and sugar. Gradually stir in sour cream.
  2. Cook, stirring, over medium-low heat until thick. Drain beans and add to mixture.
  3. Turn into a shallow baking dish. Top with grated cheese. Put under broiler for 5 minutes or until cheese melts.
