Ingredients
- ` small cabbage
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 stick butter
- 1 teaspoon pepper, or to taste

How To Make mamaw's cabbage

Step 1Core cabbage. Cut into bite-sized pieces.

Step 2Place in a large skillet. Add milk. Then add water until skillet is full to 1 cm from the top.

Step 3Cut butter into 1/4 inch slices. Add butter slices, spread out over the cabbage.

Step 4Sprinkle with pepper.

Step 5Simmer over medium-low heat for 30 minutes. As the butter melts, stir it to mix with the juice. Stir occasionally as it cooks.

Step 6Serve with a slotted spoon to strain.
