My husband found this in an old DOS recipe program years ago, and I found it (with a different name) at Food.com. It is a delicious alternative to regular coleslaw!

Ingredients

FOR THE SLAW

head of cabbage, sliced & rough chop
4-5
green onions, chopped
4 Tbsp
sesame seeds
4 Tbsp
almonds, slivered
2 pkg
ramen noodles

FOR THE DRESSING

4 Tbsp
sugar
1 c
oil (less 2 tbsp)
2 Tbsp
sesame oil
1 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
pepper
6 Tbsp
rice vinegar
3 Tbsp
lemon juice

How to Make Japanese Coleslaw

Step-by-Step

  • 1Mix dressing and marinate sliced cabbage and chopped onions for approximately 4 hours.
  • 2Toast sesame seeds, almonds and Ramen noodles on cookie sheet at 400 degrees.
  • 3Toss toasted items into marinated cabbage just before serving.
