How To Make green bean casserole, traditional
-
Step 1Campbell's® Cream of Mushroom soup is the most traditional, but for us non-mushroom-lovers Cream of Celery is a better option, or try Cream of Chicken but omit the soy sauce if you do.
-
Step 2Stir the soup, milk, soy sauce, black pepper, beans, and 2/3 cup onions in a 1 1/2-quart casserole pan. For a twist add 1/2 cup cheese, water chestnuts, and/or bacon.
-
Step 3Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes or until the bean mixture is hot and bubbling. Stir the bean mixture. Sprinkle with remaining onions, almonds, and/or cheese.
-
Step 4Bake for 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown.
