Ingredients

  • 1 can campbell's® cream of ___ soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce (optional)
  • dash ground black pepper
  • 4 cups cooked cut green beans
  • 1 1/3 cups french's® french fried onions
  • FOR A TWIST
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can water chestnuts
  • 1/4 cup almonds, slivered
  • 2 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

How To Make green bean casserole, traditional

  • Step 1
Campbell's® Cream of Mushroom soup is the most traditional, but for us non-mushroom-lovers Cream of Celery is a better option, or try Cream of Chicken but omit the soy sauce if you do.
  • Step 2
Stir the soup, milk, soy sauce, black pepper, beans, and 2/3 cup onions in a 1 1/2-quart casserole pan. For a twist add 1/2 cup cheese, water chestnuts, and/or bacon.
  • Step 3
Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes or until the bean mixture is hot and bubbling. Stir the bean mixture. Sprinkle with remaining onions, almonds, and/or cheese.
  • Step 4
Bake for 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown.
