- 1/2 cup fresh challots, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper, fresh ground
How To Make broccoli with shallots and lemon
-
Step 1Bring 1" of water to a boil in a large, deep skillet. Add broccoli, cover, and cook until crisp-tender (about 3 minutes). Drain.
-
Step 2Melt butter in same skillet. Add shallots; cover and cook, stirring often, until golden and tender (about 5 minutes).
-
Step 3Add broccoli, lemon zest, thyme, salt and pepper. Toss over low heat until broccoli is coated and hot, about 2-3 minutes. Transfer to serving bowl.
-
Step 4NOTE: If you don't have fresh thyme on hand, don't substitute dried ... go without, or use fresh parsley instead.
