  • 2 Tbsp
    canola oil
  • 1 c
    red onions, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    red onions, chopped

    red cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 2 tsp
    minced garlic
  • 2 large
    red apples, peeled, cored, chopped
  • 1 c
    chicken broth
  • 1/3 c
    red wine vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar

    salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Braised red cabbage and apples


  1. In lg saucepan, over medium heat, heat oil. Add onion and cook 5 mins, stirring. Stir in cabbage, garlic and apples.
  2. Cook, stirrin often for 5-8 mins, or until cabbage wilts. Stir in chicken broth, vinegar, sugar and bayleasf.
  3. Reduce heat. Cover, simmer, stirring occasionaly, 45 mins. Remove bayleaf. season w/ salt and pepper.
