First encountered this recipe at a Potluck and fell in love with it. So easy and so filling - a meal in itself. Add a salad or crusty bread for dipping - Yummm.

  • 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 lb
    bacon, diced
  • 1
    onion chopped
  • 1/3 c
    sugar
  • 1/3 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/4 c
    ketchup
  • 1/4 c
    barbecue sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    prepared mustard
  • 1/2 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1 can(s)
    16 oz pork and beans, undrained
  • 1 can(s)
    16oz kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can(s)
    16oz great northern beans, rinsed and drained

How to Make Old Settlers Baked Beans

Step-by-Step

  1. in large skillet cook beef, bacon and onion until meat is one. Drain any fat.
  2. Combine all remaining ingredients. Mix well.
  3. Place in a greased 2 1/2 qt baking dish. Cover and bake at 350 for 1 hour or until heated through.
