Ingredients

  • 6 - russet potatoes, peeled, sliced medium
  • - water, enough to parboil potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 4 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
  • sprig fresh parsley

How To Make old fashion cheesy scalloped company potatoes

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Prepare an 8x8 inch baking dish by coating with softened butter. Set aside.
  • Step 2
    Put peeled and sliced potatoes in saucepan, add water to cover, add salt to taste. Boil for about 10 minutes or until tender. Drain. Put the potatoes into the prepared baking dish.
  • Step 3
    Make sauce by heating the 3 Tablespoons of butter in a medium saucepan on medium heat on stovetop. Add the flour and stir till mixed.
  • Step 4
    Slowly whisk in the milk and cook till thickened and smooth or about 5 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Add the shredded cheese and stir till blended.
  • Step 6
    Pour cheese mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with parsley. Bake for about 15 minutes or until bubbly.
