yoko's rice
This recipe came from an old friend who was Japanese and it is very good! My family and I all love it! It just has the right blend of authentic Japanese flavor made by Japanese chefs.

Ingredients
- 1/2 slice onion,sliced thin
- 2 stalks celery'sliced
- 3 - carrots,sliced
- 1/2 cup water, cold
- 1 cup rice, long grain
- 2 cups water
- dash light olive oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce, low sodium
How To Make yoko's rice

Step 1Cook first 3 ingredients in approximately 1/2 cup water in skillet,covered on lower heat.

Step 2When skillet items are cooked, adding a little water along the way. cook rice in the 2 cups of water with a little salt op. for approximately 15 minutes.

Step 3When rice is cooked, fold into skillet mixture. Enjoy!! Serve as a side dish with pork, chicken or whatever you prefer. It actually is a meal in itself.
