Ingredients
- 1/4 cup chopped green onion or chives
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 5 large baking potatoes
How To Make scalloped potatoes

Step 1To make sauce, in a medium sauce pan, melt butter. Stir in flour, 1 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/8 teaspoon pepper. Add milk. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat.

Step 2Mix a little bit of sauce in with the sour cream, then stir sour cream into the milk mixture until smooth.

Step 3Spray 9x9 glass casserole dish with butter flavored cooking spray or butter the dish.

Step 4Place half of the sliced potatoes in the greased 2 quart casserole. Cover with half of the sauce. Repeat layers.

Step 5Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour.

Step 6Sprinkle with chopped green onion or chives over the top and bake another 15 minutes.
