Not only is this a perfect veggie dish for Thanksgiving turkey dinner, but this unexpected combination is also tasty. It makes a wonderful fall or winter side dish with any meat. Make ahead and reheat in the microwave just before serving. Letting it sit overnight brings out the flavors.

Ingredients For garlic roasted sweet potatoes

  • 2 lg
    sweet potatoes
  • 1/4 stick
    butter
  • 2 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1/4 c
    olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp
    liquid smoke flavoring
  • 1/2 tsp
    paprika
  • 1/4 tsp
    Kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    parsley flakes
  • 1/2 tsp
    red pepper flakes
  • 1 dash
    black pepper

How To Make garlic roasted sweet potatoes

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Peel and cut sweet potatoes into medium chunks.

    In a medium-sized pot on low heat, melt the butter. Add garlic and sauté till the garlic becomes aromatic.

    Add the olive oil, liquid smoke, and spices.

    Take off the heat and add sweet potatoes.

    Toss and coat the sweet potatoes.

    Transfer into a baking dish.

    Bake, covered loosely with aluminum foil, for 30 minutes.
